Scope
This was a dual effort executed in series consisting of an emergency re-imaging of approximately 4,000 laptop and desktop computers. In addition, GTN moved into a full life-cycle refresh of approximately 10,000 devices over multiple locations throughout California.
Re-Imaging Description
The Client identified a virus vulnerability that was deemed an immediate need to correct. The vulnerability was isolated to ~4,000 Laptop and Desktop devices which required an update reimaging to mitigate the risk. Because of the location and operating nature of the facility, special background, drug Screen and vaccinations were required to work within the facility. To further complicate the effort the workforce was required to be relatively small (~10 crews) to avoid disruption of the operations. GTN selected, cleared and provided certified documentation of all crews and provided Project Management for the effort completing within the 40-business day requirement of the Client.
Life-Cycle Refresh Description
The life-cycle upgrade included the multiple locations of the Client, including clinics. A total of ~10,000 devices needed to be upgraded, and disposition of the removed equipment with the 180 business day project plan established by the Client. Like the re-imaging effort, the on-site personnel consisting of 80 technicians required background, drug screen and vaccinations. The Client initially desired the effort to be completed during the day shift work cycle, which proved to be challenging for the Clients staff at several locations. To maintain the schedule, GTN quickly proposed a second shift to maintain the original completion date for the Client. We concentrated the shift scheduling to the high volume locations and within a few weeks GTN was able to revert to the day-time schedule for the Client which was their desire. GTN was able to complete both projects on time, on schedule and on budget for the Client.
Summary
Because of the flexibility and efficient pricing provided by GTN, the Client disclosed to us we marked a significant saving for them under very challenging circumstances. We continue to provide services today to the Client and have been called on for other challenging projects.
